Home Sweet Tamworth

So, it's taken me a while to actually get my act together and write a new post! Travels went well...a long day but all in all nothing too horrible happend. Thank goodness! :o) For the first 2 weeks that I have been living her I have been staying with Jon and Nikki (who lead the youth stuff) and their family, Zoe, Jess, and little Annie. They have been wonderful to me and we've had a lot of fun running around Tamworth for loads of different activities.

A few highlights thus far:
1. One of the first few days I was here it happend to be Jess' birthday which meant she got to pick all the meals for the day. They were as follows:
Breakfast: Ice cream sundaes with brownies, cookies, whipped cream, chocolate flakes and other chocolate candies.
Lunch: pancakes with sugar, fruit, whipped cream, brownies, etc.
Dinner: Chinese take-away
It was fabulous! :o)

2. A few days later I went with Nikki and Annie into town because Prince Charles was coming to Tamworth for the merging of three different military units! I didn't get an upclose look at him but I did see him! After a week I was already meeting royalty! Hahaha!

3. My first week working with the youth stuff I got to work in the nurcery! Pretty much just normal preschool stuff but the kids are so SO cute! It was a blast and fun to hear their little english accents.

4. One afternoon Matt (the other youth worker) and I went to the Tamworth castle. It was a lot of fun, even though we were both really tired. I took loads of pictures and we managed to set off two different alarms. Oops!

5. The past two nights I've gotten to go to different families' homes from church and have dinner with them. It has been an amazing blessing to get to know them and makes me feel very at home! Last night we even played 6 games of Uno and a game of Yatzee! :o) I love how boardgames can bring people together! Haha!

Tonight I am moving from Jon and Nikki's to Matt and Amy Passey's house which is where I'll be for the rest of my year here. I am looking forward to the move but I am going to miss hanging out with Zoe, Jess, and Katie (Annie's babysitter). They are the best!

That's about it for now...it's time for dinner! Yummm!

This is just fantabulous. I'm glad you have finally gotten a break to tell us what you have been up to. I am so excited for you. This adventure will be a part of you FOREVER! How lovely.
(How does this blogger thing know that I am Ellen? Through Facebook? ok...awkward)
But, yes. Cheers to you Lindsey for putting yourself out there. It can be so hard, but of course you know it can be rewarding. Just think...if we had put ourselves "out there" on that bottom bunk (because of your poor toes) in the corner of the room at Wolf Ridge, we might not be who we are today. Scary. You have meant so much to me over these years and I love you so, so much. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!!
Love,
Ellen
